After months of speculations and leaks, finally, Google Pixel 4a has released on 3rd August. It is the lower-end version of Pixel 4, which will compete with iPhone SE and OnePlus Nord. It will be releasing at $349 for the 4G variant and $499 for the 5G variant. This phone will be releasing in India in October this year.
Pixel 4a will have Snapdragon 730G and will come in 6GB/128GB variant only. The phone features 5.81″ FHD+19.5:9 OLED Punch-hole display. The phone has a 3140mAh battery and due to this, it weighs 143g. It has a plastic unibody and a rear fingerprint sensor just like other phones in the Pixel series. The phone has a 3.5mm earphone jack which is absent is many phones.
Pixels are always a camera-centric phone and Google has maintained the same with this phone too. It has a 12MP rear camera with a flash and 8MP selfie camera. The camera performance will be far better than any other smartphone in this price range. The phone will have Android 10 out of the box.
Google Pixel 4a will face fierce competition from OnePlus Nord and iPhone SE 2020 as they come under the same price bracket. Its 3140mAh battery and mediocre Snapdragon 730G processor is weaker than the OnePlus Nord. Pixel’s camera performance will decide its success as its competitor iPhone SE provides the best camera in this price range.
Although OnePlus Nord provides better specs, Pixel 4a has an edge here due to the stock Android experience. As for iPhone SE, it is a long debate between Android & iOS, it’s more of preference.
